Beer Day Britain – three (?) pints to raise

June 15th is the date that Magna Carta was sealed in 1215. Article 35 of the Charter stated:
Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale

Then along came Beer Day Britain, the day when we all go to the pub or visit a brewery and raise a glass to Britain’s national drink.

We will be doing that, no doubt, but tempered with a backward glance at June 14th when many were hoping announcements on easing restrictions on Covid would be made.

Instead, they are to continue for another four weeks as stated by Boris Johnson. So as well as raising a pint to our national drink let’s raise a second pint as a ‘tip’ to all our publicans and staff who will continue to struggle to survive.

Then a third to the hard working brewers…

They are our heroes.
These pints are for them.
